Martin – call yourself a scientist?? Once clay has been fired it can’t be reduced back to clay by crushing it up. A brick is made from very cheap clay in massive kilns, the clay a potter would buy is quality controlled and specific for its use, stoneware, earthenware or porcelain, then bagged and shipped – all fairly expensive.
