Regarding Matt’s fax machines question, it could be that the companies he’s applying to don’t trust him. I read a trick on Reddit where, to get around HR keyword scanners, you put all the job keywords (and maybe a small dictionary of industry jargon) in the header or footer of your document in 1 point white font. The companies may know they are hiring tech-savvy people who are all doing this, so they figure it’s best to scan the resumes in themselves?
Re-reading that, maybe I’m reaching for a logical answer.
