Answer Me This! **

New York’s one of the top cities about which to ask questions this week, because here’s another New York-related query. This time it’s from the lovely Sarah, formerly from Gayton, now from Norman, but imminently to be from New York:

I’m moving to New York to go to acting school. So, what are some GREAT places to eat? I’ve never been in my life, but I am a total foodie and am up for trying almost anything.

BUT, I’m also a student, so I don’t want to go broke after one great meal. Suggestions?

I doubt my vantage point from Crystal Palace, some 3465 miles away from the nosh-houses of New York, is optimal for answering this question; but we know many of you are New York-savvy, so go to the comments and avail Sarah of your feeding tips.

    Gray’s Papay
    Broadway and 72nd street

This is a popular 24hr hot dog stand. Cheap and delicious….

For the budget conscious you have to try:

shakeshack (awesome burgers, always a queue)…
    1-2-3 burger-shot-beer (speaks for itself)…
    blockheads (mexican, fantastic margeritas)…
    99cent pizza slices from 3rd avenue…
the infamous halal street meat vendor on 53rd/seventh…
Hurley’s on 48th between Broadway & 8th Ave (always a great vibe & excellent hotwings)

so many choices, those are a few of my faves – enjoy NYC cos it’s unforgettable!

I would recommend the Hard Rock Cafe if you like rock memoribilia or, if you’re a fan of Forrest Gump, the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

The area around W14 to 18 Street @ 8th avenue has some great reasonably priced restaurants – Noosh noodle bar is really cool.

Pink Teacup in Greenwich brilliant breakfasts.

    Cafeteria 24 hour diner: awesome.

Max Brenner’s chocolate shop – try the chocolate syringe.

For a special occasion, Craftsteak is full of nice staff and amazing food but it’s $$$
