Every proper blokes’ barbers I have ever used has the exact jars of barbicide described in this episode. Ever since I have been a small child, it has been one of my favourite smells. I suspect your lack of awareness is a symptom of your deep seated middleclassness!

Lord Lineker’s first Walkers advert was based around his retirement from football. It was set to the tune of Welcome Home and featured Gary walking by various Leicester landmarks.
Gary is a Leicester lad and Walkers are made in Leicester, hence the relationship.

Due to the very specific elevation of the mountain, it’s almost certainly this:
http://peakware.com/peaks.php?pk=2357
Castle Mountain, in the province of Alberta.
It’s in Banff National Park. This dovetails neatly with the summer job, since Banff Park Lodge hires a lot of seasonal staff for the summer. Meal servers, housekeeping, that kind of thing. (A friend of mine worked there, long ago.)
