the future of Answer Me This?

the future of Answer Me This?

Here’s something disheartening from Tom:

I play Halo 3 online and I listen to Answer Me This! while I play. One time a couple of weeks ago my mum was eating her tea while I was playing. After about five minutes my mum told me to turn Answer Me This! off. When I asked why, she said because that woman (Helen) has such a filthy mouth. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve tried to convince her that Helen is a nice person and is just being funny.

So answer me this: how can I convince my mum that Helen is a nice person, and that Martin is the disgusting crude one?

A salutary lesson for us all at Answer Me This!; but aside from us actually changing our ways and our vocabulary, how can we restore the favour of Tom’s mum? Advise us by posting a comment below!

(Also, while my own verbiage could certainly be cleaned up, Martin CLEARLY has the pottiest mouth in the podcast by a mucky mile.)

Halo 3! Try putting Answer me this podcast through the headphones then play Halo 3 through the head phones that way you be sure she will pan that too, Considering the use of language over xbox live and the fact that this is a “M-Mature” game tell her if she lets you play games like this then you should be able to listen to podcasts like this one

It’s a difficult one to answer, it depends on the attitude of “Mum”.
I bet Tom has heard similar or much worse at school, and it also depends on Tom’s age (sorry haven’t listened to 93 yet….sorry I have sinned!).

Tom’s best bet is to say to his Mum, well I will be hearing much worse as I grow up and go into the outside world, but I know the difference between language used in a humourous & harmless way as in comedy, and language used in a foul-mouthed and rude way to cause offence.

Yes and play the Sky News and Talksport card, Helen, you and Olly didn’t swear at all on the recent Ian Collins show, and a very good chat it was too!

Well… don’t play her such classics as ‘A elephant’s hymen must be thick and leathery’ and ‘Knee deeeep in foot-ball pusseeee!’

I think either show your mum Helen being all polite on Sky News, or invest in some headphones.

I’VE GOT IT! Play the episode where Helen helped someone come out to their parents! Heart-warming stuff. Was it episode 59?
