Lately we’ve very much enjoyed putting questions to you lot, so here is another one, from Holly:
Me and my friend Ciorstan are currently on our gap year living and teaching in China! We bought a pet rabbit, even though I live on the 4th floor, don’t have a cage and don’t actually want a rabbit. Answer me this: What’s the worst thing you’ve ever bought on impulse?
Sadly, our impulse buys are all pretty boring – all those unhandsome clothes at the back of the wardrobe; hair products that smell of worming medicine; pork scratchings; Paul Weller CDs – but we’ll put 50p on YOURS being far more amusing. Share your shopping follies in the comments below!

I am actually inable (unable?!) to walk down a street without buying random junk. My latest purchase was a pair of jeans from Dorothy Perkins…. without trying them on… They cost 40 quid and it turned out they didn’t fit!!!

I impulse bought a guitar last year for £100. I wasnt quite the natural I was sure I would be (I couldn’t even tune it properly). I gave up the dream after around 2 weeks.
I sold it to cash converters as good as new last month. I got £20 back for it.

I once bought a set of bagpipes off ebay on a whim. I thought £69 was a bargain! I then remembered that I have already been threaghtened with eviction over noise pollution… They make a nice center piece though…

I once bought a £20 scooter with flashing lights on, just to ride around my town centre on, I took the scooter home at the end of the day. It is now rusting in my garden, which has not been used for over 4 years…. sigh.

When at University (not “school”) I went shopping for a friend’s little brother’s birthday party present at the Toys R Us store. On impulse I bought a pogo stick and while in line, bought a slot car race track.
The first night back at the dorms the pogo stick sent a hallmate to the hospital with a broken collar bone (we had been drinking).
The slot track, however, became a big hit as the drinking game, “Drink and Drive”. Any time your car crashed or if you lost, you drank.

I bought a skateboard for £3 with my housemate on a late night trip to Asda. That was fun. Also, i bought the Apple iPhone/iPod touch developers kit, in the vain hope i could learn to develop an iPhone app. Silly me, eh?!

My wife and I once bought a 6-month-old German Shepherd puppy (I think y’all call them Alsatians). It wasn’t exactly an impulse since we had been planning to buy a dog. But as soon as I met this dog, I knew it wasn’t a good choice. He was extremely anti-social with strangers. However, my good judgment was overcome for some reason. We brought him home and he turned out to be a terrible dog. We returned him to the breeder two weeks later.
